About Me
I started my training in Shiatsu at the Zen School of Shiatsu in 2003 and have been practicing ever since.
Since 2006 I have been working with an organisation in the substance misuse sector providing treatments for current and ex-users.
I am currently on the teacher training programme of the Zen School of Shiatsu.
I am a fully qualified Practitioner and member of the Zen Shiatsu Society.
Alongside Shiatsu, I am following Taoist practices. Meditation and Chi Kung help me to manage my energy and keep my life in balance in order to help others more effectively.
I also facilitate a meditation group for women - the Jade Circle.
About Manawa
The word Manawa can be found in several languages - Maori, Native American and Hawaiian.
Manawa means "Heart, Peace & Comfort".
Mana also is "Life Force" or "Chi" and Manawa stands for "Directing Chi".
Manawa is a keyword in Kahuna philosophy. Serge Kahili King in his book 'Kahuna Healing' translates it from the Hawaiian as:
"Your moment of Power is Now.
You are not bound by any experience of the past or any perception of the future, for the past is only a memory and the future a mere possibility.
You have the power in the present moment to change limiting beliefs and consciously plant the seeds for a future of your choosing.
As you change your mind, you change your experience."
